In the League the 1st XV had a successful year, finishing in 3rd position in Qualifying 1, behind Coleraine and Bangor.

With his contribution of 24 tries, Michael Campbell was voted player of the year.

Credit must go to coach Ian Brown who has brought the top 2 trophies to the Cloughan in 3 seasons.

Maurice Field will be taking the coaching reins next year and Shaun Longstaff will remain as Development Officer

The 2nd XV finished 3rd in Junior 1 while the 3rd, 4th and 5th XV’s all completed their seasons in their respective leagues.

Last season the 1st XI finished their 3rd season in Section 3. New Club Captain Philip Kernaghan is currently preparing his squad and practice has just moved outdoors to the Cloughan.

The 2nd, 3rd & 4th XI’s will again have full league and cup fixtures and with the standard of players at their disposal should all be chasing promotion.

Youth cricket will again feature highly in the TCC programme with the Under 17 team playing Donacloney in the Colts Cup, the Under 15 and Under 13 teams playing in the strong East Antrim Leagues and Cup competitions and the Under 11’s playing in the Quoile Cup.

Congratulations to Robert Smith who has been selected for the NCU U15 squad and to John Busby who has been selected for the Irish U17 squad .

After their promotion into Senior 1 last year the 1st XI were always going to find the going difficult this year. They finished in the relegation zone and will use next year in Senior 2 to build on what was learnt this year.

The 2nd XI again achieved promotion, the 4th year in row and were unbeaten in the league.

The 3rd and 4th XI’s completed the seasons in the Junior league while the veterans finished in the top half of the league. They also made it to the Semi-final of the Cup.

Personal congratulations to Rachel Aiken, Helen Stevenson ( goalkeeper ) and Linsi Pollock , who were all selected for the Ulster U16 team.

I am reliably informed there are many up and coming stars to follow in the footsteps of these 3. So the future looks bright.
